As of 8th July 2017, recreational and sport fisheries annual licenses can be bought by all persons, no matter of their nationality or citizenship. Licenses can be bought on official web pages of Directorate of fisheries (https://ribarstvo.mps.hr ) or in the offices of Directorate of fisheries after the payment was made. They can also be sold by dealers authorized by Directorate of fisheries. Recreational fisheries licenses valid for one or more days as well as of those for recreational fisheries of tuna, spearfish and swordfish can also be bought online.
 
All kinds of sport fisheries licenses, except for annual licenses, can also be bought on official web pages of Croatian association for sport fisheries at sea (www.hssrm.hr) and are also sold by member associations of Croatian association for sport fisheries at sea. An annual license cannot be bought online, it is sold by HSSRM or authorized dealers.
 
It is important to keep in mind that the electronic licences do not have a paper form – the licence is confirmed with the serial number assigned by the system upon purchase. When the purchase is completed, a PDF document shall be delivered to the e-mail of the buyer which confirms that the licence has been bought and contains the licence serial number.
