Marine aquaculture
Croatian marine aquaculture is consisted of farming fish and shellfish. The most important species are European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax), Giltheaed seabream (Sparus aurata) and Atlantic bluefin tuna (Tunnus thynnus) of fish species and Mediterranean mussel (Mytilus galoprovincialis) and European flat oyster (Ostrea edulis) of shellfish species.
Total annual production of marine aquaculture in 2024 was 24.988 tonnes.

Freshwater aquaculture
The farming of freshwater fish species in Croatia is performed as farming of warm water species (cyprinid species) and farming of cold water species (salmonid species). The most important species in freshwater farming are carp (Cyprinus carpio) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
